Ok. So you’ve heard about the 200-mph Jaguar F-Type SVR. You’ve even seen a couple of pictures we brought you back in January. But you haven’t seen anything yet.
Jaguar is releasing a bunch of new pics of the 2017 F-Type SVR, along with pricing and specs, to get our blood pumping ahead of its official debut in Geneva this March. And if you weren’t excited before, you will be now.
With the coupe’s top speed hitting 200 mph, the new F-Type SVR will be the fastest series production vehicle produced by Jaguar since the XJ220. The hardtop is priced from $126,945. The convertible starts at $129,705.
It’s the first Jag to wear the SVR badge – which stands for the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations group.
The new 2017 F-Type SVR will sprint 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds thanks to a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that churns out 575-horses and 516-pound-feet of torque. An enhanced aerodynamics package includes a front bumper and splitter, flat underfloor, rear venturi and carbon fiber active rear spoiler that reduce lift and drag. It’s not just faster, it’s louder too, with an upgraded Inconel Titanium exhaust system.
Just like on the R models, carbon-ceramic brakes with lighter aluminum wheels are an option to reduce weight. Add the optional carbon-fiber roof and other pieces such as carbon-fiber rollover hoops on the convertible, and the SVR drops 110 pounds compared with a standard R.
An upgraded chassis features new dampers and anti-roll bars, wider tires, lightweight 20-inch forged wheels and new, stiffer rear knuckles.
Order books for the F-Type SVR are open now with deliveries slated to begin this summer.
