2013 Audi S4 Quattro Review

2013 Audi S4 Quattro Review

Luxury sports sedan is a hot segment, and one of the hottest models on the market is the Audi S4, the performance sister to the Audi A4. My 2013 Audi S4 comes with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that is putting out 333-horses. This beast of a car will do 0-to-60 in 4.9 seconds and Audi limits top speed to 155-miles per hour.

My tester has a 6-speed manual transmission that shifts with ease and helps you to maximize power. You can get a 7-speed automatic in this car as well, but the manual allows you to upshift and downshift to suit your driving desires. With Audi’s terrific Quattro all-wheel drive system, the car digs in under heavy acceleration. It just squats and goes.

The S4 interior is fabulous with two-tone leather seats with bolsters to hold you in when you enter tight corners. As you would expect from an Audi, it is completely loaded with power sunroof, navigation system, heated seats, three-zone air conditioning, and a great stereo system. Back seat room is more than ample.

The S4 comes also with special 18” 5-spoke wheels, the instantly recognizable Audi xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with multifunction controls.

My black pearl review car has black and red sport seats that is a stunning combination. Option-wise, this car has the Audi Multi Media Interfact, which give you a CD/DVD player, color driver information display, rearview camera, and Bluetooth connections.

Audi lowers the S4 over an inch from the standard A4, adds lower front air intakes for the supercharger, and adds a terrific exhaust system with 4 pipes coming out the rear that look and sound great.

While the S4 looks awesome on the outside and terrific on the inside, the best part of this car is the handling. The car handles very precisely and corners like it is on rails. You can change the suspension from normal, to comfort, or choose dynamic. All three settings make a significant difference in the way the car drives and handles. I tried all three settings and can’t get off the dynamic mode, it is just a ton of fun.

Gas mileage is OK, and I got to the rating number of 20 miles per gallon combined, but I had to try. The way I enjoy driving this car, the mileage drops significantly.

The Audi S4 is a terrific combination of a sports car, a luxury car, and a great daily driver.

What I liked most: The handling and exterior looks.

What I would change: As usual, I’d like to see larger wheels.

MSRP: Base price $47,600. As tested, $54,520.

Fuel Economy: Rated at 17 in town/26 Highway.

Warranty: 4-Year/50,000 mile bumper-to-bumper, 1-Year/5000 miles of free maintenance, 4-years of roadside assistance.

2013 Audi S4 in a few words: Speed and luxury unite in a great sedan!

Wonderful car. Just got mine early this month. Black pearl/black interior, Prestige package. Could not be happier.
