Twelve cars and 12 truck/utility vehicles are now being considered for the 2014 North American Car of the Year and 2014 North American Truck of the Year (NACTOY).
The vehicles were selected by 48 jurors who began the year evaluating 28 cars and 18 truck/utilities that were new enough to be eligible.
On September 30th jurors were asked to pick vehicles from those 28 cars and 18 truck/utilities deserving additional consideration and a spot on the so-called “short list”
Now jurors will be focusing on the short-list vehicles with their ballots due at the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche on December 6th.
The top three cars and three truck/utility vehicles will be disclosed December 10th in Detroit at a luncheon held by the Automotive Press Association.
The winners will be announced at a news conference at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit early in January. Until that time only officials at Deloitte & Touche will know the winners.
