2017 Audi A4 Coming To Detroit, Priced From $37K

2017 Audi A4 Coming To Detroit, Priced From $37K

Audi is bringing its A game to the Detroit Auto Show next week. Its A4 game, that is.

The automaker is unveiling the all-new 2017 A4 sedan ahead of its official U.S. debut in Motor City. It gets a sharper design, improved handling, and all the latest tech toys. It also offers Audi’s signature quattro all-wheel drive. And luckily there’s not much of a wait. It arrives in dealerships this Spring.

The new design begins on the outside with Audi’s signature horizontal contoured Singleframe grille, more distinctive wheel arches, and a wrap-around shoulder line. With this in mind, it keeps Audi’s understated refinement that makes the A4 the best-selling model in its history.

Other exterior touches are xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights with dynamic turn signals, power-adjustable and heated side mirrors, and 17-inch wheels with all season tires. Drivers can also opt for either 18- and 19-inch wheels. LED headlights are available as well.

A new generation of seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission improves handling. It’s matched to either front-wheel or quattro drive. The completely redeveloped powertrain the uses a 2.0 TFSI engine with 252 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. It’s matched to dynamic shifting for better fuel efficiency. Precision steering comes from a new front five-link suspension.

Inside, a three-dimensional inlay design spans from side to side. Audi says the design is based off its flagship A8 sedan. An acoustic windshield create a quieter cabin. Ambient LED lighting and a power sunroof come standard. There’s also more shoulder, head, and rear leg room as well.

The A4 will make every mod tech driver smile with its available Audi virtual cockpit. This is a 12.3-inch screen that uses an NVIDIA quad core. A full-color head-up display is available too.

Audi pre sense city comes standard on all the trims. It uses cameras and sensors to detect the road and warn drivers about hazards. It also has the technology to autonomously apply the brakes to avoid an accident. The A4 also offers other driver assist features like traffic sign recognition, pre sense rear, vehicle exit assist, rear cross traffic alert, turn assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go traffic assist.

So how much does the A4 cost? It’s offered in three trims: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige and they start at $37,300, $41,100, and $45,900 respectively. All three trims are available with quattro and start at $39,400, $43,200, and $48,000.
