If you have your heart set on a convertible, but don’t have much money to spend, we give you the 2017 Smart ForTwo Cabrio.
We didn’t say it would be big. But it is kinda cute.
Mercedes-Benz is bringing the Smart ForTwo Cabrio back after taking a year off. At a starting price of just under $20,000, Mercedes says it’s the most affordable convertible you can buy.
It will arrive this fall with a starting price of $18,900 plus destination and delivery charges. An optional 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission-equipped Cabrio starts at $19,890. All ForTwo Cabrio models feature a 3-cylinder turbocharged gas engine which makes 89-horses and sends 100 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels.
The open-top two-seater has what Mercedes calls a “tritop” folding soft top. You can open up the top entirely and take the removable roof bars off for a full-fledged cabriolet drive. Or you can opt to just open the large sliding canvas sunroof.
It comes in three trims and you can choose soft-tops in black or dark red at no extra cost. The new power soft top operates at any speed and retracts in 12 seconds.
The new Smart ForTwo Cabrio arrives in dealerships this fall.
