Aston Martin Unveils DB9 GT Bond Edition

Aston Martin Unveils DB9 GT Bond Edition

It’s been over 50 years since  James Bond and Aston Martin started chasing after the bad guys together on the big screen. To mark the milestone, the automaker is previewing the release of the latest Bond movie, Spectre, with a new special Bond edition of its DB9 GT complete with plenty of 007 details, equipment, and accessories that James Bond would approve. An extremely limited edition, only 150 of them will hit the road.

“Aston Martin and James Bond are intrinsically linked in the minds of our enthusiasts and, indeed, owners, worldwide. In the run-up to the launch of the new film, Spectre, which sees Bond behind the wheel of the DB10, we are very happy to be able to celebrate the partnership with this superb limited edition DB9 GT collector’s item. I’m sure the 150 owners worldwide who succeed in acquiring one of these exceptional sports cars will, like the rest of us, delight in seeing Spectre when it is released later this year,” says Dr. Andy Palmer, Aston Martin CEO.

The Bond details start on the exterior, which features Spectre Silver paint and specially designed ten-spoke gloss black diamond turned 20-inch alloy wheels with grey brake calipers. The luxe continues with aluminium bonnet vents, side strakes, and grille that complement the carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser. The exterior is completed with sterling silver Aston Martin badges on the front and rear along with special 007 Bond Edition badging.

The DB9 GT’s already luxe interior, with fluted leather and satin carbon fiber details, gets the Bond treatment as well with unique numbered sill plaques with the 007 logo and gun barrel embroidery on the rear seat divider. The latest AMi II Aston Martin infotainment system is even spy ready with a special Bond Edition start-up screen.

Tucked into the bonnet is the DB9 GT’s 6.0-liter V12 engine that pumps 540 horses. It springs from zero to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds and does 183 mph at top speed. The engine is paired with a rear mid-mounted Touchtronic II six-speed transmission with electronic shift-by-wire control system and features a three-stage Adaptive Damping System with Normal, Sport, and Track modes to be ready for any mission.

The Bond Edition includes a 21-inch Globe-Trotter trolley case that features an embossed leather luggage tag as well as an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m James Bond Limited Edition watch with a unique Aston Martin strap.

The DB9 GT Bond Edition is available for order now and starts at roughly $252,000 USD.

Spectre arrives in theaters November 6th.
