Ford GT350R Is Super Limited
Talk about exclusive! Ford recently announced very limited runs of the 2015 GT350R and GT350 Mustangs. The automaker will only build 37 2015 GT350Rs and only build 100 GT350s this production year.
“Fans of the Shelby brand are among the most passionate in the automotive industry,” said Henry Ford III, Ford Performance marketing manager. “To honor the passion of our fans for Shelby GT350’s 50th anniversary, a limited run of GT350 models will be built in 2015; these cars will be highly coveted by both Mustang and Shelby enthusiasts alike.”
Ford’s limited edition runs are in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Shelby GT350.
Cadillac CTS-V Due This Summer
Cadillac is now taking orders for its next-generation 640 horsepower CTS-V. It officially hits the road late this summer. The powerhouse sedan was unveiled earlier this year in Detroit and is the second V-Series Cadillac due out this year. The first is the ATS-V that will arrive late this spring.
“V-Series represents the pinnacle of Cadillac, a brand that now makes drivers’ cars at the highest level,” says Johan de Nysschen, Cadillac president. “The new CTS-V is essentially two cars in one: a luxury sedan with sophisticated road manners and a track-capable sports car with awe-inspiring performance. This type of car is exclusive, the domain of the few who can access this level of incredible capability. V-Series matches or overtakes the finest cars in this elite class, while being more accessible.”
The CTV-V will be the most powerful car in Cadillac’s storied 112-year history. It delivers a 0-60 in a 3.7 seconds with a 6.2-Liter supercharged V-8 eight-speed automatic transmission that also offers full manual control via steering wheel paddles. It has a top speed of 200 mph and the icing on the cake is that the CTS-V packs 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque, which is more than the BMW and Mercedes.
MG’s First SUV
MG is introducing the GS, it’s first-ever SUV. The crossover recently made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show and will go on sale in China soon, then arrive in the UK next year. China’s debut model will get two turbocharged gasoline engines, either a 1.5-liter or a 2.0-liter. The UK will likely get a diesel version.
“The SUV brings something new to the brand,” Lowerson told Autonews Europe.
The automaker then reportedly plans to expand the GS to other European markets, but no word yet on whether the U.S. will see it.
