Auto News: Silverado High Desert, MINI Seven, Porsche Wagon

Auto News: Silverado High Desert, MINI Seven, Porsche Wagon

Chevrolet’s back with a new Silverado special edition, Mini is going back to its roots with the Seven, and hip hip hooray, Porsche is bringing its Panamera Wagon to the States.

2017 Chevy Silverado High Desert

Chevrolet is out with yet another Silverado Special Edition. The Chevy Silverado High Desert is based on a concept it showed off at the SEMA show in 2014.

The package really has two highlights. One is an all-new lockable, waterproof cargo system in the truck bed on the Silverado LT, LTZ and High Country trims. The other is a Magnetic Ride Control suspension, available on High Country trim. It’s the first time it’s been offered on a Silverado, by the way.

The Silverado High Desert arrives this fall.

New Mini Seven Special Edition

Mini is coming out with its own new special edition. This one is a flashback to the past.

It’s the Mini Seven special edition and it pays tribute to one of Mini’s two original models, the Austin Seven, from 1959. The Lapisluxury Blue paint color is the best part. The seven badging isn’t bad either.  It also has some exclusive features like custom wheels.

The new Seven package is offered on both Cooper and Cooper S models and will hit the road in late summer.

U.S. Will Get The Porsche Panamera Wagon

Now this is exciting news. The new Porsche Panamera Wagon will be sold in the Unites States. Porsche it seems is betting Americans are feeling more friendly towards anything with the word wagon on it.

Of course, the Panamera is no ordinary wagon. It’s based on the Sport Turismo concept Porsche debuted in Paris back in 2012, but will follow the footsteps of the second-generation Panamera which debuts this fall.

Europe will be the first to get the wagon in 2017. It is expected to arrive in the U.S. in 2018.
