Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction Results

Barrett-Jackson-LOGOIf the auctions over the weekend in Scottsdale, Ariz., prove anything, it’s that you can’t go wrong with a Ferrari.

The prancing pony brand captured four of six spots on the list of most expensive cars to cross the block at a series of auctions from different houses. The most expensive of them all was a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT California long-wheelbase Spyder that RM Auctions sold for $8.8 million. The auction house says it believes the tally is a Scottsdale record.

Of course, Barrett-Jackson commands most of the attention. Among all the auctions, Hagerty, the insurer of collector cars and close follower of auction action, says buyers shelled out $248.6 million. Average selling price: $107,096.

Despite being the name-brand attraction, Barrett-Jackson only shows up twice in the Top 10. Among other things, it sold a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Coupe for an impressive $3.8 million.
