It’s a big moment for Cadillac. The automaker recently started shipping its first new CT6 models, with the first XT5s soon to follow.
A local news affiliate in Tennessee reports that a couple just took delivery of one of the first CT6 sedans in Knoxville. It even came with a special video to go with it.
The couple, Steve and Joanna Judson, emailed Cadillac telling them they’d ordered the new CT6. Plant managers then decided to make a video for them, showing how the car was made. They even included interviews with workers.
WATE 6 reports the Judsons say the car they bought is an example of hard work and a lot of heart.
“I mean we’re just two old folks in Tennessee and they truly cared in building it,” said Joanna Judson. “It’s not about us. It’s really not even about the car. It’s about a bunch of employees, who I now call friends, and I’ve never met them, that care about what they’re doing.”
GM auctioned off the very first production model to benefit charity. An Ohio car dealer placed the winning $200,000 bid and he received the car in February. The auction benefitted the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
