Welcome back to Cartopia! It’s where you can show off your prized set of four wheels to the masses and the rest of us can wish we had one just like it.
Classic or new, restored or modified, send us your pics and tell us about the special car in your life. It could wind up here.
In Nevada, Texas, Don’s perfect ride is his 1937 Ford Convertible Street Rod. He calls it “old and nostalgic, but with all the modern items anyone could want.” Painted in 2002 VW Fresco Green, it has AC/Heat, PW, PB, PS, Radio/CD, and a modern motor with automatic transmission. He says it rides and handles great.
Gary, from Granbury, Texas, is riding around town in PepperJack! That’s what he’s named his 2015 Mini Cooper S. “Pepper white is the color and Jack, well, it just sounded right.” Gary says PepperJack is pretty close to perfect, does 0 to 60 in 6.3 seconds and gets 35+ mpg on the highway. Oh yes, he also says it “corners like it is on rails.”
Leif from Wisconsin is all about his 1948 Willys CJ2A! His passion started when his dad, a WWII veteran, got him interested in Jeeps when he was a kid. He bought the 1948 Willys in the late 90s after his wife read about one that was for sale. It was in so-so shape, needing some restoration at the time, but how could he resist! It soon turned into a family project and his kids helped him repair, rebuild and restore the Jeep. It’s now considered one of the family and has been to more than a few parades, and even proms! He also gave his dad ride in the Jeep in a Memorial Day parade back in 2001, as shown in the photos. He says it’s given the family many good memories and more to make!
Bob from California sent us a bittersweet story of not one, but two Chevy’s! He recently traded in his 2006 Chevy SSR for a 2015 Stingray 2LT painted in custom “Crystal Red”. He sure didn’t like seeing his SSR go, but says his new ‘Vette is “amazing!!! WOW, is it fast!!!!”. Bob says his uncle had an original 1963, and when he went for a ride back when he was 14, he was hooked!
Monty from Hugo, Oklahoma sent us this photo. The special car is his life is a 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe. “It’s my perfect car because I ordered it exactly the way I wanted – the next best part is I went to the Corvette plant in Kentucky to watch my car built. ” That’s two full work days, from start to finish!
