If you’re a Ghostbusters fan you’re really going to wish you lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Boston or Washington D.C. That’s because if you order Lyft in one of those cities today or tomorrow you could be picked up in the Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1. (We can’t promise you’ll be followed by pink exhaust fumes, however.)
Lyft is rolling out a 1982 Cadillac DeVille wagon – some replicas and some originals from the new film – decked out in everyone’s favorite ghost-fighting livery this Friday and Saturday. It’s part of a promo tie-in with the upcoming reboot starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Lesley Jones and Kate McKinnon.
If you use Lyft in one of the select cities, just select Ghost Mode when you’re ordering a car. The Ecto-1 should appear shortly to whisk you to your destination. Each wagon will be packed with some ghostly refreshments as well. You can help yourself to some Hi-C Ecto Cooler and Ghostbuster-themed Twinkies.
You can order the free ride on July 1 and July 2 from 10 a.m until 6 p.m. (One heads up, we did come across a report that Lyft expects these to be so popular it’s wrapping some Toyota Highlanders in Ghostbuster livery, as well. )
The new Ghostbusters movie comes out July 15th.
