Chicago Firefighter Wins Dodge Challenger

Chicago Firefighter Wins Dodge Challenger

It’s a good day when you get to talk about a firefighter winning a new Dodge Challenger.

Fiat Chrysler says Chicago firefighter Kevin Arias is the lucky winner of the muscle car after entering a contest along with 1.2 million other people. So while it wasn’t a contest directly benefitting a rescue hero, it turned out that way and we couldn’t be happier.

Arias works as a firefighter for the Tri-state Fire Protection District. He says the timing of his win is ironic. He says he’s been wanting a hot rod his whole life and was just beginning to give up on that dream. That’s when he got the call from Fiat Chrysler.

“A few months ago I had said to my wife, ‘I don’t think I’ll ever get my hot rod.'”, says Arias. “I’m feeling truly blessed. I never win anything, so when I got the call from FCA it was unbelievable.”

It’s sweet the FCA giveaway allows winners to choose their own dream car. Kevin won $45,000 towards his new Challenger, but he had his choice of any car from the FCA’s Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, FIAT, and Alfa Romeo brands.

He naturally choose the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack. We couldn’t have picked a better prize car ourselves.

“Given how Kevin Arias Heroically serves his community as a Chicago firefighter, it give us great pleasure to present him with his new Dodge Challenger,” says Jason Russ, Head of Experiential Marketing for FCA.

Kevin entered the 2015 FCA National Giveaway last year while visiting Las Vegas. He entered at a Ram Truck booth at the Shot Show.

If you want to be the next Kevin – don’t we all? – you can still enter Fiat Chrysler’s National Giveaway for 2016. Check out the details at here. The sweepstake closes December 31st.

Dodge’s Challenger starts at $26,995. The Scat Pack R/T, like the one Kevin chose, starts at $38,995. A whopping 485-horsepower comes from a 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8. It brings the sport handling with Bilstein high-performance shock absorbers, 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, and Brembo four-piston caliper brakes. The active-valve exhaust brings the muscle car rumble.
