If you want a GMC Yukon with all the chrome you could ask for, you’ll like the new 2016 Yukon SLT Premium Edition.
The Premium Edition is a chromed-out special model offered on both the Yukon and Yukon XL models starting this summer.
The pickups feature unique 22-inch chrome wheels and a chrome grille, along with bright chrome body-side moldings and a polished exhaust tip.
GMC’s 5.3L V8 engine sits under the hood and it delivers an EPA-estimated 23 highway mpg on the two-wheel-drive models.
Other features include second- and third-row seats that fold down for more cargo space, a programmable power rear liftgate that you can operate hands-free, wireless phone charging and keyless entry. It offers 8,500-lb. max trailering for Yukon and 8,300-lb. max trailering for Yukon XL (2WD models).
An 8-inch-diagonal color touch-screen comes standard with enhanced IntelliLink and available navigation. It’s also compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Drivers can stay connected with OnStar 4G LTE and an available Wi-Fi hotspot.
Safety technologies on the Yukon lineup include a forward radar system and the segment’s only front center air bag on models with front bucket seats. GMC says it deploys from the inboard side of the driver’s seat and inflates between the driver and front passenger.
Sales for the Yukon and Yukon XL were up more than 11 percent for the first four months of 2016.
