Black remains the new black. As customers keep snatching up black editions, automakers keep cranking them out. The latest to the black pack is the Ram 1500 Rebel Black Edition. It will officially debut at next week’s Detroit Auto Show.
The black pack comes as an add-on color package. That means that if going all black doesn’t suit you, but lots of black accents do, you’re in luck. The Rebel Black will offer all of the normal Rebel paint colors.
The Black Rebel starts at $45,590. It adds anodized bezel detailing on the doors, center console, instrument panel and gauge cluster. The seats are heated and have “Rebel” embroidered on them. The cabin’s black upholstery features slate gray accent stitching. You can upgrade to Black leather Katkin seats. Because of the off-roading selling point, rubber mats come standard.
So what’s so different between this pickup and the Ram 1500 Special Edition Night Package you ask? Well mainly that it comes on the off-roading Rebel version of the 1500. It comes with a Rebel unique grille, 33-inch all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, skid plates, and tow hooks for starters.
The Rebel Black edition will be available on the Crew Cab with either the 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter V8. It will go on sale in March. If you want a sneak peak, like the one we’ll be getting, it will be on public display next week in Detroit.
