For consumers, Memorial Day weekend is one of the two best times of the year to get yourself a bargain. As a former dealership owner, I will tell you that this is one of those weekends where you are thinking “pure volume”. To make it EVEN BETTER for you this weekend, it’s the last weekend of the month too!
If that is not enough for you, gas prices are falling and used car values are SKY HIGH right now. Many experts say that used car values will start to drop in June. I agree that used car values will fall and fall fast, I happen to think it will be in July, but no matter who is correct, the value of your used car WILL fall from where it is today.
On holiday weekends like this one, the dealers will deal on EVERYTHING. The dealer’s mindset is to do whatever it takes to move vehicles, even those that are short in supply. They will work hard to get you the best possible interest rate, and if you have less than perfect credit, the lenders get more lenient too on Memorial weekend and Memorial Day. Remember too, there are a LOT of extra incentives out there for Veterans and current and former military personnel through Monday night.
Bottom line, if you think you might be in the market for a new or used vehicle any time this year, consider this weekend, it’s the perfect storm of savings for consumers.
