Hot on the heels of its more conservative sister comes the new top-down 2018 Ford Mustang.
Earlier this week, Ford revealed plans for its freshening of the regular 2018 Mustang. The convertible option doesn’t get left in the dust. Really, it looks like the new hardtop minus, of course, the top.
That means a lower sloping hood and skinner LED headlights. The lower front end creates a wider stance. The larger grille finishes off creating the more aggressive look. Ford says the rear fascia gets a freshening as well, but it’s barely noticeable.
Ford has your back if, like us, it concerns you to be able to distinguish the new Mustang from the last one. It created a side-by-side before and after video to make the details of the freshening clear. Look and be amazed at the little tweaks that add more heat.
The convertible will also drop the base V6. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost and 5.0-liter V8 options get upgrades for better performance. Like the hardtop, the new 10-speed automatic transmission will be available.
You get 3 more paint colors to choose from and 12 wheel designs. The cabin will also offer the completely customizable digital instrument cluster. The available MagneRide suspension offers the ultimate handling. MyMode remembers your custom drive settings so you don’t have to readjust every time you loan someone the keys – not that you will want to.
If you want to catch a peek of the drop-topping Mustang you’re in luck. It will begin a tour across the nation with more than 50 stops at regional auto shows. It will wrap the tour by going on sale in the fall.
