Jeep is celebrating its 50th annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari next spring. To mark the occasion, Jeep is taking off-roading off the hook with the debut of a Wrangler Red Rock Concept at the SEMA show this week. And to make things more exciting, Jeep will even build a limited 50 production models based on the concept. So if you’re interested in one of them, we suggest you get on it pronto.
“The annual Easter Jeep Safari remains one of the most significant events on any Jeep enthusiast’s calendar. We’re extremely grateful to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers for continuing this iconic Jeep even, and we present our Wrangler Red Rock Concept as a tribute to them and the enthusiasts who attend the annual Jeep Safari and support our brand,” says Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA Global.
Mopar and Jeep collaborated on this special concept using the Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock as the base and rigging it out with Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts. The design includes Amaretto Brown Katzkin leather seats with silver accent stitching and seat backs embroidered with the Red Rock logo. The interior also gets a Red Rock grab handle plaque.
The exterior gets custom with a Red Rock badge and hood decal, low gloss Jeep badge, low gloss Granite Crystal off-road bumpers, body-color grille with low gloss black throats and headlamp accents, LED headlamps and fog lights, 17-inch beadlock wheels in low gloss black, 2-inch lift kit, and Jeep-branded CB radio. Its special aftermarket touches include 35-inch BFG K02 all-terrain tires, Warn Rubicon winch, front and rear differential covers, and reinforced swing gate and wheel mount. Whew.
“The Jeep Wrangler is the most accessorized vehicle in our portfolio, with almost 100 percent of customers buying at least one accessory or performance part. Mopar continues to support serious off-roaders by offering a full-line of high-end, hard-core quality aftermarket Jeep Performance Parts to personalize their rides and tackle extreme trails,” says Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service (Mopar), FCA – Global.
The Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock base packs next-generation Dana 44 solid front and rear axles, a Rock Trac transfer case with a 4.10 axle ratio, power dome vented hood, premium off-road rock rails, and front and rear tow hooks.
A Wrangler inspired from the Red Rock concept goes into a serialized 50-unit special-edition production next year. Jeep says that it will feature some of the content on the concept and will also offer some items as aftermarket parts from Mopar.
