When I first spoke to Don (Ski) I asked him how the pricing was done, considering I was one of your listeners and he said it would be invoice less 2%.That seemed more than fair. Today I was told that due to the fact that they were going to have to bring in a car from another dealer, that the price would be higher, that they couldn’t do the 2% or even invoice. This was never mentioned when I first talked to them and it smells of the old bait and switch. At this point, I think that I’ll just keep my 2005 F-150.
Jerry’s reply: John, I can assure you from being a dealership owner myself, to get a deal like 2% under invoice, you have to buy from the dealers stock, or they lose 3% because they were not the original dealer. That is with all makes. Plus they have the additional cost of getting the vehicle driven or transported. I don’t expect ANY dealer to lose money selling one of my listeners. I’d try to find something in their inventory OR order the vehicle from the factory.
I really appreciate you listening to the show. In this case, the dealer did nothing wrong, they are a good dealership.
