Here’s an odd recall to pass along. Mazda is recalling about 174,000 vehicles because their seats can change angles suddenly.
Specifically, we’re talking about three models. The Mazda 2 from the 2011 model year and the 2010 and 2011 Mazda 3 and Mazdaspeed 3 compacts.
Mazda says the problem is with the seat height adjustment link. It can break or detach from the seat frame, changing the seat angle. Not a great thing to have happen while you’re driving as you can imagine and it could up your chances of having an accident.
Dealers will inspect the seat links and either install a reinforcement bracket or replace the whole seat adjustment unit. The recall begins March 31.
