Whether getting in touch with your dark side or going hard-core off roading interests you, Chevrolet is making a Colorado for you. The automaker releasing two new 2016 Chevrolet Colorado special editions of its popular midsize truck. The first is the Midnight Edition that features a black-out design. The second is the Z71 Trail Boss that kicks the Colorado’s off-roading capabilities into high gear.
“These are aggressive editions of one of the country’s hottest-selling truck, demonstrating the personalization that’s possible with Chevrolet accessories, whether it’s for the street, trail or both. As the Colorado continues to win over new customers, the new Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss give them more choices and build on segment-leading capabilities and efficiency,” says Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager.
The Midnight Edition
The Midnight Edition of the Colorado follows in the footsteps, or tiretreads, of the popular Silverado Midnight Edition. Like the fullsize truck version, the Midnight Edition of the Colorado features a full black-out design from nose to tail. The exterior features black finishes on the 18-inch aluminum wheels and grille and even the automaker’s signature bowtie is gets the black treatment.
The Midnight Edition is available on the LT trim with both the extended and crew cab bodies offered as bases. It will offer drivers the choice between 2WD and 4WD as well as offering the choices of the 2.5-liter and the 3.6-liter engines. For diesel fans, it will also offer the new 2.8-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine.
The Z71 Trail Boss
The Z71 Trail Boss edition adds on to the capabilities of Chevrolet’s Z71 off-road truck suspension package. The exterior features special 3-inch round rocker steps and black fender flares. Like the Midnight Edition, it also features black bowties.
The exterior is especially distinctive with a black sport bar that is equipped with LED trail lights that make it truly ready for off-road adventures. The interior is also ready for adventure with all-weather floor mats with the Z71 logo on them. To round it off are black-finished 17-inch aluminum wheels paired with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 265/65R17 all-terrain tires.
The Z71 Trail Boss is available with Z71 models on both the extended and crew cab bodies. Like the Midnight Edition, it offers drivers the choice of 2WD or 4WD and the choice between the 2.5-liter and the 3.6-liter engines. It also offer the 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine.
