So did you know the one-millionth Mazda Miata is out on a U.S. road tour? Well, it is and it’s half-way through its trek across the country and back.
The one-millionth roadster tour stops in Charlotte, North Carolina, Thursday night September 8 (as in tonight.) Other upcoming stops on the tour include Dallas, Houston, Austin, Phoenix and Los Angeles. The 18-stop tour winds down in Monterey in October.
Fans can actually sign the one-millionth roadster at its tour stops. When all is said and done, Mazda expects it to be signed by 20,000 fans from around the world.
The millionth MX-5 is also joined on the tour by one of the earliest-produced Miatas. The Classic Red 1990 model is the 15th one ever built and one of the first three shown to the world at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show.
The tour winds down in Monterey, California in October for the annual “Miatas at Mazda Raceway” owners’ event. From there, it heads to the Australian leg of the tour before retiring at the Mazda Museum back in Japan.
