If you’ve been angling for some more Tesla Model 3 photos, you’ve come to the right place.
Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk unveiled the new four-door sedan Thursday at the automaker’s headquarters in Hawthorne, California to a crowd that could barely keep its excitement contained. It’s billed as Tesla’s first “affordable” electric car aimed at mainstream drivers.
The price point is key in Tesla’s plans to make this happen. It starts at $35,000, putting it in line with the average cost of a new car these days, unlike the Model S or Model X. All trim levels will get Autopilot, but expect to shell out more for premium features on the top-of-the-line models.
Musk says the goal is to produce 500,000 vehicles a year once production is at full speed.
We’ll have to wait awhile to actually see these hit the road. We can expect the first deliveries to start in late 2017. More than 130,000 people have already shelled out $1,000 deposits to own one and that was before the car was even unveiled.
