Ram Nation Plans Caravan To Help Texas Flood Relief

Ram Nation Plans Caravan To Help Texas Flood Relief

On Tuesday, June 2, Ram Nation truck owners will converge on storm-damaged areas in Wimberley and San Marcos, Texas, to deliver supplies and help area residents recover from deadly flooding.

The effort will be lead by the First Response Team of America, which the FCA Foundation recently donated $100,000 to in efforts to help the flood relief effort. Ram trucks will be used to haul in supplies and equipment needed to assist residents. The day will start at San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, where Ram truck owners will load needed supplies into their pickups’ beds. Ram owners will then caravan to flood-stricken areas and help with home site recovery as well as deliver food, water and cleaning materials.

“Ram Truck and the FCA Foundation are committed to helping our friends in these Texas communities get back on their feet and on the road to recovering from the devastating floods. In Texas and across the nation Ram truck owners are the kinds of neighbors who are ready to lend a hand when you need it most,” said Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO of Ram Truck Brand, FCA US.

So far, 22 deaths are attributed to the recent flooding in the Lone Star State.Torrential rains have already given Texas the wettest month on record, according to Texas A&M climatologists. President Barack Obama has also declared a major disaster in the state.

“Our thoughts are prayers are with the people of central Texas. We are heartened by their unwavering spirit during this difficult time and we are humbled to support relief efforts,” said Jody Trapasso, Senior Vice President of External Affairs, FCA, North America and President of the FCA Foundation.

The Ram brand established a partnership with the First Response Team of America in 2012 to help communities across America respond to natural disasters. Since then, Ram – through the FCA Foundation – has donated more than $300,000 to First Response. As a result, Ram and the First Response Team of America have led similar collaborative operations in Tupelo, Miss., and Moore, Okla.

Ram Nation is a grassroots organization of like-minded people willing and ready to help people in need, such as those in flood-damaged Texas.
