Well it’s summertime and that means time for road trips. It also means it’s time for Kelley Blue Book’s annual top 10 list of the best vehicles to head out onto the open road with and not look back. That is, at least until you’re headed back home.
The list really runs the gamut from sports cars, to trucks, to SUVs. After all, there are all sorts of road trips to be had. The Chevrolet Stingray nabs the top spot, followed by the Tesla Model S and the Ford F-F150.
“The KBB.com editors have endorsed the vehicles on the list to be road-trip worthy, not because they are basically the same candy bars in different wrappers, but because each is the proper tool for a specific kind of trip,” said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com. “You probably wouldn’t love the F-150 on California’s Highway 1, and the Mazda MX-5 wouldn’t be a great choice for your next camping vacation. Matched with the right kind of road trip, however, each of these vehicles will more than fulfill your latent lust for the open highway.”
Without further ado, the top 10 list of 2015 model vehicles making the cut this year.

William Shatner is choosing a different vehicle entirely for his upcoming 2,000-plus mile summer road trip from Chicago to LA. He’ll be driving a three-wheeled motorcycle he helped design himself called a Rivet.
The moto bike, outlined in silver studs, has an eight-cylinder engine, the aforementioned three wheels, a windshield and protection elements, although it’s an open air cockpit. So we hope Shatner doesn’t forget his sunscreen.
Shatner’s ride will in part benefit The American Legion and will be filmed by a TV crew.
