Sarasota PD Sings Auto Safety Tips In Holiday Jingle

Sarasota PD Sings Auto Safety Tips In Holiday Jingle

We’ve got to hand it to the Sarasota, Florida Police Department. Those men and women in blue are good sports!

They’ve created a holiday jingle to warn people about car burglaries that spike in number over the holiday season. Sure, not all of them may be able to carry a tune, but they get their message across.

The video features several officers from night shift who share safety tips that rhyme. Lines include “Hide your gifts and cash so criminals don’t take your stash,” and “Drop a dime if you see a crime, we’ll be there in no time.”

Even the department’s police chief lends her voice to the important safety message.

During the holidays, the Sarasota PD offers a few simple safety tips to protect you, your loved one and your car:

  • Keep all car doors locked & windows closed when you leave your vehicle
  • If you shop a night, park in a well-lit area
  • Don’t leave valuables or packages on the seat of your vehicle. If you have to leave something in your vehicle, lock it in the trunk or put it out of sight
  • When approaching your vehicle, be aware of your surroundings
  • Be extra careful if you carry a wallet or purse
  • If you see something suspicious, say something

The Car Pro family wishes you and yours a safe and happy holiday season!
