You certainly won’t miss the newest Rolls-Royce coming down the road. Say hello to the limited edition St. James Wraith. It’s eye-popping scarlet red color is fitting, given that it’s the most powerful Rolls yet. Powerful as in 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 with 623 horsepower powerful. Thanks to that engine, it’ll hit 60 in a mere 4.4 seconds.
The newest wraith is named after the patron saint of Portugal and Spain and its red paint job is offset by chrome brightwork on the grille, window frames, and door handles. The wheels are done up in a two-tone silver and gloss black, while the interior gets the black leather treatment that’s every inch a Rolls.
As for how much it’ll cost, for starters the base Wraith stickers around $300,000 so it will add to that. We also don’t know yet how many of these things will be built, but we do know they’re not for wallflowers.
Next up for Rolls-Royce is a convertible version of the Wraith dubbed Dawn. The automaker is bringing back the heritage-laced nameplate that was introduced in the early 1950s. Powered by the same 6.6-liter V12, the Dawn will be fitted with a conventional soft top rather than a folding hardtop.
“Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date,” said Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, Chief Executive Officer. “Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds – an awakening, an opening up of one’s senses and a burst of sunshine. It will be the most social of super-luxury motor cars for those beautiful people who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s social hotspots.”
Dawn will launch during the first quarter of 2016. Meanwhile, you can check out our review of the 2015 Wraith here.
