SERIOUSLY? Who leaves a child in the back seat of a car with the keys in the ignition these days? Luckily, it turned out OK this time.
Two car thieves dropped an 8-year-old boy off at school after they discovered him in the backseat.
Norfolk, VA Police spokesman Daniel Hudson says the boy was sitting in his mother’s car in her employer’s parking lot when two men got into the vehicle and took off. The mother had left the keys in the ignition.
Hudson says the boy told police that the men asked him which school he attended. They then took him to Ghent Elementary School and dropped him off.
The mother called police after she returned to the parking lot and found the car and her son were missing. Fortunately, police found the boy safe and sound at the school. The car had been abandoned about 3 miles from the school.
The investigation is continuing. No arrests have been made. I hope there are three arrests eventually.
