Tip of the Week: Determining Trade-In Worth

Tip of the Week: Determining Trade-In Worth

What’s the best way to figure out how much your trade-in is worth?

There’s no question about it. The best way to get an accurate, real-world value on your trade-in vehicle is to have someone physically look at it. Get a free and thorough appraisal at one of our Car Pro Certified Dealers or at a Carmax.

You will typically have a written offer good for seven days with no pressure to make a decision then and there.

We don’t recommend using online sites like Edmunds or Kelley Blue Book. It’s not that these sites don’t offer some good info, but their used car pricing models aren’t great. Simply put, trade-in values aren’t their priority and, again, there is no replacement for having some look at your vehicle.

At the end of the day, remember, a car is worth what someone is willing to write a check for.
