It’s beginning to look a lot like ski trip season. But if you’re like professional rally driver Ken Block, just ditch the skis and go straight for a Ford F-150 Raptor.
Watching him frolic the muscle truck in the snow gives a whole new meaning to the phrase dreaming of a white Christmas. Don’t just take our word for, check it out below.
Ford claims the new Raptor is “the ultimate high-performance off-road pickup.” We’re inclined to agree after seeing it dashing through the snow (have you had enough Christmas song references yet?)
We had the chance to get behind the wheel of this beast for ourselves this week and it is pure awesomeness. Check out video of our test drive here. While our experience doesn’t compare to Block’s, we’d definitely feel confident having some winter fun with the Ford Performance pickup. Or really whatever the road, or off-road, might be.
Like the rest of the F-150 lineup, the Raptor uses an all-aluminum body allowing it to shed 500 pounds. The model carries an EcoBoost, 3.5-liter, 450-horsepower engine with 510 pound-feet of torque.
Ford just started taking orders for the all-new model last month. The model starts at $49,520. If you want one, don’t wait. No word on how many will be made, but you don’t want to get the short end of the stick on this one.
We’re still waiting for the first delivery, but they should be starting soon. After all, snow season is here.
