Technology moves fast. So fast that Volvo is already giving its new 2016 Volvo XC90 crossover some updates.
This week, Volvo gave the XC90 the gift of Apple CarPlay compatibility. It’s free for owners who took delivery of their vehicle before November 23, 2015. It’ll cost $300 bucks for owners who took delivery after that date.
Volvo also rolled out updates to the Sensus Connect system which now connects drivers with other new applications like Yelp! and Pandora. Oh and we can’t forget about navigation. XC90 owners will also receive updated HERE navigation maps, real time traffic information via INRIX and improved speech input and performance. All of this will be rolled out to all XC90 customers for free.
“The Apple CarPlay experience enhances the award-winning user interface already available on the XC90 and just announced S90 sedan,” says Lex Kerssemakers, President and CEO of Volvo Cars of North America. “The Sensus Connect touchscreen gives us flexibility to update software and add features to cars after they have been delivered to customers. This is an important part of our commitment to long-term customer satisfaction.”
