Mitsubishi is recalling about 100,000 model-year 2007-13 Mitsubishi Outlander SUVs over windshield wipers.
The problem is water could possibly drop between the hood and windshield and leak into the wiper motor breathing hole. If that happens it could cause internal corrosion of the wiper motor. Basically, the wiper’s wouldn’t work and you’d be in trouble if you got caught in a rain shower.
You can read the NHTSA recall documents here.
Mitsubishi will begin notifying owners shortly and will replace the wiper motor for free.
Owners can call the automaker at 888-648-7820, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check your VIN to learn more.
