I had a beautiful 2009 Buick Enclave this week. I’ve been a fan of this vehicle since it came out and they just seem to get better. This one is no exception. It is a great driving car and one of the things I like about Enclave is the extra insulation they put in them to make them quiet.
One obvious change for 2009 is the addition of more horsepower. The 2009 3.6 liter has 288 horses hooked to a six-speed automatic transmission that performs very well. Even with the extra horsepower, I maintained 20 miles per gallon in mixed driving, as much as 24 on the road.
The test vehicle was fully appointed and had the second row captain’s chairs which flip forward for more cargo area when needed. Enclave CXL comes standard with just about everything including dual-zone front and rear air conditioning, leather heated seats, and dual front power seats.
Additional options on this vehicle include DVD player, power moonroof, backup camera, power liftgate, and navigation system.
This seven-passenger crossover SUV is a real joy to drive and handles like a dream. There are some new color choices for 2009 and GM recently included the 2009 Enclave in their Employee Pricing for the balance of this month. I find Enclave to be a great mix of luxury and fuel economy.
Pricing was not available yet, but I suspect the MSRP on this one, fully loaded was around $42,000.
