2015 Corvette Gets 8-Speed Automatic – Car Pro News

2015 Vette with 8 speedThe 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is picking up speed.
Speeds, that is. Two of them.
Chevy has announced that next year’s model will offer an 8-speed automatic transmission option alongside the standard 7-speed manual.
The automaker says the new quick-shifting transmission will deliver improved performance and up to 5 percent better fuel efficiency over the current 6-speed automatic’s 16 mpg city/28 mpg highway rating.
The 8-speed was previously confirmed for the upcoming 625 horsepower Corvette Z06 model, and needed only a few tweaks for duty in the 460 hp Stingray.
The 2015 cars should start showing up at dealers in September, but while today’s six-speed is a $1,350 option on the $53,995 2014 model, the price of the new transmission has not been revealed.

Jerry the new non Z51 I bought from Mark at Classic is a pleasure to drive. It works out fine since I don”t plan on trying to break any speed records and drives like a dream with the automatic tranny. Thanks again for getting yours there…because if you got one there then there must be something to the place. The red seats look awsome with the red exterior…people sure stare and stare and stare.
