The new Lincoln Navigator luxury SUV, which gets a new standard engine, also gets a new price for 2015 — a higher one.
The Navigator will start at $62,475 including destination fees when it goes on sale over the summer. That’s a $5,315, about a 9%, boost from the outgoing 2014 Navigator at $57,160.
Even at the higher price, Navigator will be cheaper than Cadillac’s new Escalade, which starts at $72,690 including destination charges.
Besides new looks on the outside, the new Navigator gets a more powerful and efficient turbocharged engine, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 good for 380 horsepower. With a six-speed automatic transmission, it’s good for towing up to 9,000 pounds.
The new Navigator will pick up where the current one leaves off — trying to make a dent in sales in the shrinking market for full-frame SUVs.
