Kia has just announced the pricing for the fourth-generation 2017 Kia Sportage. Starting at $22,990, excluding destination and handling, it keeps its entry level starting price in the CUV market.
The all-new design is sleeker with both the front and rear lights getting streamlined. The body is stiffer and bigger. The width remains the same, but the wheelbase is 1.2 inches longer. This gives it a roomier interior and more cargo space.
The 2017 Kia Sportage offers three trims: LX, EX, and SX Turbo. The base LX comes standard with LED Daytime Running Lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, 5-inch touchscreen with Rear Camera Display, and keyless entry. It uses Drive Mode Selector, which offers drivers the choice of Normal, Eco, and Sport modes.
An optional upgrade ‘Popular Package’ on the LX comes with $1,100 price tag. It adds heated front seats and outside mirrors, 10-way power adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, tricot cloth seats, and roof rails. There is also a $900 Cool and Connected Package for the LX that does just that. It adds dual-zone auto climate control, auto defog, and an UVO 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The EX starts at $25,500. It adds leather upholstery, Push Button Start, 18-inch wheels, fog lights, and a gloss black exterior trim. A $1,900 EX Premium Package adds a heated steering wheel, power-folding mirrors, and a panoramic sunroof. It also adds safety features like Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
There is an EX technology package for $2,700. It adds an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation, 320-watt Harmon Kardon audio, Front and Rear Parking assist, Smart Power Liftgate, Lane Departure Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and ventilated front seats.
The top-of-the-line SX Turbo model starts at $32,500. It adds 19-inch wheels, dual exhaust pipes, bi-Xenon HID headlights, LED fog and tail lights, D-shaped steering wheel with paddle shifters, metal scuff plates, and five interior color options.
The SX Turbo bumps up to a 240-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The base LX and EX models come with a 2.4-liter. All trims are available with AWD for $1,500.
