Lexus is recalling approximately 1,800 model-year 2017 Lexus ES 350 sedans over a suspension issue that could potentially cause loss of steering.
The right-hand side tie rod assembly may not have been installed correctly. So over time, according to Lexus, the driver may experience noise, or the vehicle can drift to the left or right while driving. The worst case scenario is that a driver could loose steering control which could lead to a crash.
Lexus will start notifying owners in mid-July so they can bring their vehicles to a dealer. Mechanics need to check the right-hand side tie rod lock nut to make sure it’s properly tightened. If it’s loose, dealers will replace it along with the steering gear assembly and tie rod assembly.
