And so will Vin Diesel. During the smoke filled arrival of the model at the NY Auto Show, the legendary muscular actor and Dodge lover said, ďAs you know, I have been related to the Dodge family for some time now. Cars like the Demon are why Iím proud to be the new ambassador of Dodge.Ē
The National Hot Rod Association, on the other hand, bans the model according to Dodge. Why? Because itís hardly even street legal. Itís being sold sans passenger seat and rear seats.

Itís not really banned by the NHRA, as much as Dodge seems to like saying that, itís just that in its stock form itís fast enough that itís required to have a competition license and extra safety equipment (a roll cage) that the car doesnít normally come with.
Despite what you might think, Dodge is not planning for the Demon to be a big seller. Rather it will appeal to a small number of specialist drivers and collectors. For the rest of us muggle folk, it will simply serve to fuel are love and wonderment of the American automaker.
But letís say you do want to be one of the lucky drivers of a Demon. Production is limited. Only 3,000 2018 models will be slated for the U.S., 300 in Canada. Official pricing is expected to be in the $100,000 range. If you do want to have passengers, those extra seats add-on for one dollar each. Thatís cheaper than a seat on the bus to go downtown. Deliveries begin in the fall.
ďThis is a car unlike anything weíve ever done,Ē Tim Kuniskis, head of passenger car brands for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, said at the show, ďThis car, for the people who race it, who build it and develop it Ö will share that pride across more than a track. Demon is another halo that will transcend a core group of enthusiasts.Ē
Really, the Demon is the superhero that will help sell the now seemingly fan gear Hellcat. Both models use the production Challenger as their base. And both models use a similar 6.2-liter. Dodge notes though that the one in the Demon is not only 100 horses more powerful, but it also gets over 50 percent different components. Making it really something special.
Similarly, the Demon is hotter than HellÖ cat. It has to use more than just air intakes, but actually, gets a special lubrication refrigeration system for its larger supercharger.
