Wards Auto is out with its annual list of top 10 Best Interiors, a list filled with user-friendly, well-designed cushy interiors packed with great technology.

This year, judges compared 40 nominated interiors. They had to be either new or significantly improved from the prior year. Cost isn’t a factor, so the list includes vehicles stretching from the $29K Hyundai Kona to the $201K Porsche Panamera. We just checked out the Autograph Package interior of the new 2019 Infiniti QX50 recently and wowed us in every aspect.

Wards Auto judges say red was extremely popular this year, not only as an accent color but covering complete seats and wide swaths of door panels on five vehicles in the competition. Make that six if the burgundy-red Lincoln Navigator is included. (Speaking of which, Car Pro Show host Jerry Reynolds reviewed the new Navigator recently and absolutely loved the 30-way leather passenger seats.)

“Thank you to all the interior designers who have been urging their bosses to take chances and try colors that are less predictable,” WardsAuto Senior Content Director Drew Winter said. “We know a lot of consumers end up buying black, gray or beige interiors, but there are also a lot of shoppers who want more excitement. This year’s class of winners will make those folks happy.”

Very clever that the Lincoln Navigator has a red indicator on the location of Detroit ; that is both it's destination and origin , perpetually shown on the screen .
