A Nissan technology-first is rolling out on the 2018 Armada which is arriving in dealer showrooms just in time for Labor Day weekend.
It’s called Intelligent Rear View Mirror. It streams live video from a rear-mounted camera to your rearview mirror. So you get a clear view of what’s behind you even if cargo or tall passengers are blocking the rear window. It looks just like a traditional rearview mirror, except it has a built-in LCD monitor that can be activated with the flip of a switch located at the bottom of the mirror. You can check out how it works in the video below.
Aside from the mirror, the other slight change for 2018 is the new 8.0-inch touchscreen with a newer infotainment and connectivity system. Nissan completely remade the model for 2017 with a new-platform and the more powerful, 390-horsepower, 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine.
The 2018 Armada goes on sale September 1st with a slight price hike. The base SV starts at $46,795, which is $700 more than the current year.
The price hike is steeper on the top Platinum model. It now starts at $59,885, which is a good $1,100 more. The higher price point on the Platinum accounts for the Intelligent Rear View Mirror coming standard. All three trims continue to offer 4-wheel-drive for an additional $2,900.
