If you want the look of the new Dodge Durango SRT, but not necessarily the 475-horse engine under the hood, you’re in luck.
The 2018 Dodge Durango R/T will offer the aggressive SRT bark without the bite. It will share the SRT’s aggressive front end and performance hood, but not its engine.
Not that the R/T doesn’t offer good power, it does with a 360-hp V8 engine, but it’s not in the same league as the somewhat ridiculous SRT’s 475-hps making it the most powerful U.S. 3-row SUV ever.
Like the SRT, the R/T will feature a functional performance hood with central air duct with heat extractors on either side. The lower front fascia includes a new cold-air duct and LED foglamps.
If you want the fancy performance hood on a non-R/T model you can add it to the GT model with the Blacktop or Brass Monkey Appearance Package. The R/T will also be the only other model besides the SRT to come with the B5 Blue color though it won’t arrive until later. Empty your pockets for the final add-on hand wrapped instrument panel with accent stitching.
All 2018 Durangos come standard with a backup camera, a new sport steering wheel, and driver electronic T-Shifter with Auto Stick selector. The R/T adds standard ParkSense, Front Park Assist, Beats Audio with nine speakers with a subwoofer and 506-watt amplifier; each of which are optional on the GT and Citadel models.
R/T pricing will be out closer to its arrival date this fall.
