2018 Honda Civic Arrives With $100 Price Bump

2018 Honda Civic Si Coupe

Honda’s 2018 Civic rolls into dealerships this week with a slight price increase. Otherwise, there are no changes for the sedan or coupe following its 10th-generation redesign in 2016.

The standard Civic sedan and coupe will start $100 more; the Si goes up by $200 compared to the outgoing 2017 model.

The 2018 model is riding in on the popularity of the current model, which is selling well. It comes close this year to stealing the best-selling-passenger-car-in-America crown from the Toyota Camry.

The Civic scores highly in the safety department, making it a great pick for new and old drivers alike. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the 2018 Civic and Civic Si a 5-star overall safety rating. (The 2017 Civic is a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.)

The Honda Sensing safety suite is available on all Sedan trims and comes standard on sedan and coupe Touring models.  It includes Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Lane Keep Assist, and Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available.

The 2.0-liter engine is still the standard on the base sedan and coupe. It rates 158-horsepower with 138 lb-ft of torque. At EX-T trim level, Honda replaces it with a 1.5-liter turbocharged 174-horsepower with 167 lb-ft of torque engine. The EX-L sedan starts at $21,600.

There’s the Si if that’s still not enough power for you. Its 1.5-liter VTEC turbo rates 205-horsepower with 192 lb-ft of torque. However, if driving 6-speed manual is an issue, just move along.

The Civic continues to come in a a bunch of trim levels with the base LX sedan starting at $18,840 without destination charges. The coupe starts at $19,250. The Si coupe starts at $24,100. The 2018 LX hatchback starts at $19,900.
