What’s New for the 2018 Mazda CX-3

Mazda’s giving its compact crossover CX-3 some nice party favor upgrades for 2018 including a quieter interior and standard autonomous low-speed braking.

The first big change for 2018 is standard Smart City Brake Support. This safety system brakes for you at speeds up to 19 mph. The optional full-color Heads Up Display adds further safety.

The already fun entry-level Mazda gets better handling thanks to a revised suspension, recalibrated dampers and new engine mounts that improve the chassis. Mazda also worked to make the cabin quieter with thicker rear glass, improved door seals and rear floor sound deadening mats.

Further, G-Vectoring comes newly standard with all-wheel drive models. What it does is monitor the engine and steering to adjust the torque and the amount of power between the front and rear wheels for more stable and “confident” driving.

New comfort tech includes optional power driver’s seat with position memory and heated steering wheel.

The base Sport model starts slightly higher than the current year. The Sport now starts at $21,050. Bumping up to the Touring trim swaps 16-inch wheels with 18-inch wheels and ditches the cloth upholstery in favor of leatherette and Lux Suede. The Touring comes loaded with standard Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, advanced keyless entry, heated front seats, side mirrors with turn signals. 2018 adds to the list with standard auto headlights, auto climate control, and auto windshield. The Touring Preferred Equipment Package adds Bose audio, a moonroof, SiriusXM, HD Radio, and a cargo cover.

The Grand Touring features Parchment or Black leather with red accents and Lux Suede upholstery. The Adaptive headlights, fog lights, and daytime running lights are all LED. Handy tech includes Navigation, paddle shifters, and the full-color Active Driving Display heads-up system mentioned above.

Go for it all with the GT Premium Package and its Radar Cruise Control, Smart Brake for highway speeds, Traffic Sign Recognition, lane-departure warning, high beam control, heated steering wheel, and power adjusting driver seat with memory.
