If you have a Toyota Tundra, beware. Rear bumper steps could fall off of certain models. The issue is prompting the automaker to recall 73,000 pickups from the 2016-2017 model years.
The models under recall are equipped with integrated rear bumper steps that use a plastic bracket. The bracket could break without the driver knowing, say, if for example the driver accidentally backs into something. A broken bracket means the step could fall off.
The fix is simple. Toyota will replace the current resin brackets with stronger ones made of steel. Owners can expect notifications in mid-February.
