The Car Pro Show was slated to begin the Saturday after the 9/11 attacks. We delayed the show for two weeks, and the very first time we were on the air was September 29, 2001.
On our show that aired closest to September 11, 2002 we did an audio tribute on the air and have continued that tradition by replaying it every year since.
We again play the audio on this Saturday’s Car Pro show, but if you would like to hear it, and share the link with anyone, here is the audio and some video. We hope you enjoy it and that it reminds you that we must never forget the tragic events of that day, the day that changed America forever.
At the end of this tribute, you will hear audio when I sat down with my then 3-year old nephew Connor, shortly after 9/11, to teach him the Pledge of Allegiance. Luckily, I thought to get it on tape. We did it several times, but I ended up using the first one, completely uncut.
A few years later, we added music from a beautiful song recorded by Mr. Lee Greenwood, which is what you hear on our tribute.
On this 13th Anniversary of the darkest day in American history, I wanted to share this with you.
