Its been a tough year financially for a lot of folks. First came the economic impact of COVID, which is still ongoing, and add to that, many people are now also dealing with natural disasters in parts of the country, like hurricanes and fires.

Toyota Financial and Ford Credit are stepping in to provide some payment relief to customers impacted by Hurricanes Laura and Isaias, as well as those impacted by the wildfires in California and the derecho which struck the Midwest earlier this month.

Editors note: As always, please visit the automaker finance websites directly to read the fine print on how to apply for help and whether or not you are eligible for the programs offered at this time.

Toyota

The broad outreach includes any Toyota Financial Services (TFS) or Lexus Financial Services (LFS) customer in the designated disaster areas.

Lease and finance customers residing in the affected areas may be eligible to take advantage of several payment relief options, some of which include:

  • extensions and lease deferred payments;
  • redirecting billing statements; and
  • arranging phone or online payments.

For questions and to find out more about your options, here are the numbers to call:

  • Toyota Financial Services customers may call 800-874-8822 or contact TFS via email using the Mail Center function after logging into ToyotaFinancial.com.

  • Lexus Financial Services customers may call 800-874-7050 or contact LFS via email using the Mail Center function after logging into LexusFinancial.com.

Ford

Ford Credits disaster relief program allows qualified customers to delay one or two monthly payments, resuming their regular payment schedules when their situations improve.

Were offering customers affected by the disasters some time to recover, said Jim Drotman, executive vice president, U.S., Canada and International Markets. We care about our customers and want to work with them through this tough time.

The company will send postcards and/or emails with instructions to request help to eligible Lincoln Automotive Financial Services and Ford Credit customers. Customers may also request help immediately by calling this toll-free number: 1-800-723-4016.

The offer is available to customers who are leasing or have purchased vehicles with financing from Ford Credit or Lincoln Automotive Financial Services.

Nissan

NMAC customers can request payment extensions by using the online chat feature at NissanFinance.com or by calling (800) 456-6622.
Nissan North America is also offering employee pricing with a delayed payment option, on most Nissan cars and trucks, to qualified individuals or business owners whose vehicle(s) sustained damage or a total loss during the impact of Hurricane Laura or Marco.

Those impacted by the storms in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi have until September 30th to apply for the discount. Area Nissan dealerships are standing by to facilitate the offer. Claim ID codes are valid for 45 days from date of issue. More information can be found by following the special "disaster relief" link at www.InsideNissan.com.

Program eligibility is transferable within the same household, and vehicle registrants must provide proof of residency. The program is non-transferable to other family members or friends outside of the household. There is a limit of one claim per damaged vehicle, (i.e., if three vehicles are totaled, the customer is eligible for three replacements.)
