Would someone please hand us a tissue because this video of a crashed C8 Corvette is hard to watch.
Yes, it would seem that a brand new mid-engine C8 Corvette is already the victim of a multi-car accident. Likely a prototype of some sort, probably undergoing testing of some kind, since the C8 was just unveiled
and hasn’t even gone into production yet.
Still, tis a sad sight indeed. But thankfully judging from the video it looks like there are no serious injuries.
Youtube video shows the severe front end damage to the once utterly stunning Elkhart Lake Blue untarnished ‘Vette. You can also see the airbags deployed. At this point we know that the accident happened on a mountain road in California. An onlooker reported the location as somewhere in the foothills west of Yosemite. According to Motor1
, the C8 was part of a GM caravan of GM vehicles equipped with GoPros. We won’t speculate as to what happened but you see a Ford Ranger and Chevy Equinox also have some damage in the multi-car accident that ended up involving a gaurdrail.
Photos of the crash first made the internet thanks to an Instagram post from wrecked_musclecars
We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for an official police report. No statement yet from Chevrolet.
