Each year at this time, I share a list of the vehicles I reviewed that were the most impactful or left an impression on me. I take into consideration all the things I talk about on the CarProSUA Radio show: Value, driving impressions, and overall impressions of the vehicle.
As with most of 2020, my video schedule was totally screwed up, although I continued to review vehicles even when I didn't do a weekly video.
In the first quarter of the year, I was rained out for four of the twelve sessions. Then from March 25 through the end of May, I didnt do videos due to Covid-19. I just didn't want to put myself or my film crew in jeopardy.
Still, even with everything going on, I feel like I had a successful year of car reviews, and I will give you the highlights.
2020 Chevrolet Corvette
How do you not start out without the new Chevy Corvette? The new C8 was an incredible car and without a doubt, it was the most memorable of the year. It is easy to see why it is sold out so far into the future.
2021 Kia Seltos
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I was very impressed with the Kia Seltos, a small SUV that was an extremely good value and very enjoyable. This SUV offers a lot for the money.
2020 and 2021 Hyundai Palisade
I had the Hyundai Palisade twice in 2020. In early January I had the Limited version, and recently had the new Calligraphy model. I was incredibly impressed with both versions and thought both were exceptional buys, possibly the best on the SUV market.
2020 Jeep Gladiator
I also thought the Jeep Gladiator was an incredible addition to the Jeep lineup, for those who love the Wrangler, but need the utility of a pickup bed.
2021 Toyota Venza
I was really impressed with the all-new Toyota Venza SUV, a hybrid that drove great, and got super fuel economy. It also had a lot of cool features and I thought Toyota priced it right.
2021 Ram 1500 TRX
It will be hard to forget the 702-horse Ram 1500 TRX pickup, it was just a beast, but the Ram Rebel EcoDiesel was impressive, too. The Ram brand has been on fire for several years in a row.
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
Of course, you don't forget amazing cars like the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 that I spent a week with. This car is the fastest production car Ford has ever made, and 760-horses was a blast!
GM SUVS: Chevy Suburban, Tahoe, Blazer, and GMC Yukon
Finally, General Motors killed it with the new generation of 2021 large SUVS. I loved the Tahoe, Suburban, and the GMC Yukon Denali. All three are home runs. I will add also that the 2021 Chevy Blazer was extremely memorable.
In a year when many new vehicles that were to debut were delayed due to the Pandemic, it was still a great year to be a car reviewer.
