Ford is wasting no time ushering in a replacement for ousted President of North America Raj Nair. Thursday, the automaker named Lincoln chief and Ford Chief Marketing Officer Kumar Galhotra to the job, calling it part of “key changes to its senior management team” to strengthen the company.
The move comes swiftly after Ford announced Raj Nair’s resignation
Wednesday following an internal investigation into still undisclosed inappropriate behavior.
Galhotra will become head of Ford’s North America operations effective March 1. The 52-year old’s career with the company spans 29 years. He’s served as chief of the Lincoln brand since 2014, after being appointed to that post by former CEO Mark Fields. He’s credited with revitalizing luxury brand’s lineup with the new Lincoln Navigator, Continental and soon the Nautilus which replaces the MKX.

He recently accepted an award for the new Lincoln Navigator, which won the 2018 North American Truck of the Year at this year’s Detroit Auto Show.
In Ford’s press release, President and CEO Jim Hackett said Ford is “very fortunate to have an experienced and committed executive team in place driving every day to significantly strengthen our business while building toward our vision of becoming the world’s most trusted mobility company, designing smart vehicles for a smart world.”
