The countdown is on for the reveal of the 2022 Cadillac V-Series Blackwings. Both the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing or CT5-V Blackwing high-performance sedans make their debut next Monday, February 1st, and shortly thereafter, reservations will open. The CT5-V is expected to deliver 650-horses.
The sedans will be unveiled in a livestream on Monday at 7pm EST. At 7:30 EST, reservations open on Cadillac.com on the Reserve Yours page. Customers can reserve one of the first 250 CT4-V Blackwings or 250 CT5-V Blackwings. It requires a $1000 refundable reservation.
Cadillac says that given their limited quantity and collectability, all V-Series Blackwings are VIN-sequenced by year, model and transmission. Customers who make reservations through the Reserve Yours page will receive the available high-performance steering wheel commemorated with a unique serialized plate. The plate will be etched with a five-digit portion of the vehicle’s VIN sequence. The sequence on the plate represents the model (8 = CT5-V Blackwing), the transmission (6 = manual transmission) and the number vehicle built (001 = first vehicle built).
“Just like fine jewelry comes with engraved serial numbers, we’re treating these V-Series Blackwing vehicles with the same level of exclusivity,” said Brandon Vivian, executive chief engineer, Cadillac. “These are meticulously crafted products with incredible attention to detail, and we’re excited for enthusiasts to start experiencing the cars for themselves.”
These sedans will certainly make manual fans happy. That’s because both the CT4-V Blackwing and the CT5-V Blackwing will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and offer a 10-speed automatic transmission.
“A lot of work went into making the manual possible in both vehicles. It’s something we know V-Series buyers want and it’s something we knew we had to have, so we used innovative processes to make it happen,” said Mirza Grebovic, Cadillac performance variant manager. “There are a few ways to really get that connected feel with the vehicle and the manual transmission is probably the most obvious one.”
The price of the CT4-V Blackwing or CT5-V Blackwing include a two-day experience at Cadillac’s V-Series Academy driving school at the Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club in Pahrump, Nevada.

The CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will be available in limited quantities in late summer 2021.
